From The Success Principles by Jack Canfield, Principle 35

99% IS A BITCH; 100% IS A BREEZE

There is a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.

KEN BLANCHARD

Chief Spiritual Officer of the Ken Blanchard Companies and coauthor of
over 30 books, including the classic best seller The One Minute Manager

In life the spoils of victory go to those who make a 100% commitment to the outcome, to those who have a “no matter what it takes” attitude. They give it their all; they put everything they have into getting their desired result–whether it be an Olympic gold medal, the top sales award, a perfect dinner party, an A in microbiology, or their dream house.

What a simple concept this is–yet you’d be surprised how many people wake up every day and fight with themselves over whether or not to keep their commitments, stick to their disciplines, or carry out their action plans.

THE “NO-EXCEPTIONS RULE”

Successful people adhere to the “no exceptions rule” when it comes to their daily disciplines. Once you make a 100% commitment to something, there are no exceptions. It’s a done deal. Nonnegotiable. Case closed! Over and out. If I make a 100% commitment to monogamy, that is it. I never have to think about it again. There are no exceptions no matter what the circumstances. It ends the discussion, closes that door, permits no other possibility. I don’t have to wrestle with that decision every day. It’s already been made. The die has been cast. All the bridges are burned. It makes life easier and simpler and keeps me on focus. It frees up tons of energy that would otherwise be spent internally debating the topic over and over and over, because all the energy I expend on internal conflict is unavailable to use for creating outer achievement.

If you make the 100% commitment to exercise every day for 30 minutes, no matter what, then it is settled. You simply just do it. It doesn’t matter if you are traveling, if you have a 7:00 AM television interview, if it’s raining outside, if you went to bed late last night, if your schedule is full, or if you simply don’t feel like it. You just do it anyway.

It’s like brushing your teeth before you go to bed. You always do it, no matter what. If you find yourself in bed and you have forgotten, you get out of bed and brush them. It doesn’t matter how tired you are or how late it is. You just do it.

ONE FINAL REASON

100% IS SO IMPORTANT

This powerful 100% commitment also figures critically in other important areas–for instance, the workplace. Consider what a commitment to just 99.9% quality would mean in the following work situations. It would mean

• One hour of unsafe drinking water each month

• Two unsafe landings at O’Hare International Airport each day

• 16,000 lost pieces of mail per hour

• 20,000 incorrectly filled drug prescriptions every year

• 500 incorrect surgical operations performed each week

• 50 newborn babies dropped at birth by doctors every day

• 22,000 checks deducted from the wrong account each hour

• Your heart failing to beat 32,000 times each year!

Can you see why 100% is such an important percentage? Just think how much better your life and the whole world would work if you were committed to 100% excellence in everything you do.

Cleanse your LIVER

We know many ways to detox and cleanse. Herbs, juices, vacations, get rid of it, give it away, hire a cleaner, and on…

I prefer the inner cleanse with no cost. I am thinking about the healing sounds that have come down the lineage of the Taoists. As we cleanse the liver, it cleanses aggressive tendencies such as anger. The more we practice, the more kindness, generosity and forgiveness will become part of our self-expression.

I love these exercises, part breathing and part stretching because they join the body, mind, emotions, and spirit – as one – for our Radical Self Care.

Sit or stand comfortably and breathe. Feel your breath in your body.

See or feel your liver (under your ribs on the right). Go inside.

Connect deeply with your liver, with your feelings, and with who you are. Smile on your liver; smile an inner smile.

Float your arms over your head and continue to focus and see/feel your liver (on the right side of your body).

Inhale. Interlace your fingers and rotate your palms to face the ceiling. Extend your palms and stretch fingers, palms, arms, shoulders, and the sides of your body.

Exhale. Lean to your left, stretching the right side even more, feeling your liver under your ribs.

Inhale. Open your eyes wide and exhale the sound Sh-h-h-h-h—h—h”. Make the sound out loud as you see and feel yourself releasing excess heat and anger from your liver. You might also feel the surrounding tissue and ribs compressing around the liver and supporting your exhale as you let go.

Complete your exhale, unlock your fingers, press out with your palms and inhale slowly and gently into your liver, lowering your arms. Imagine your breath drawing a beautiful bright green and the expression of kindness into your liver.

Again, inhale and interlace your fingers, rotate and extend your palms, and stretch, repeating the exercise (#5-8) with the sound “Sh-h-h-h-h-h-h” in a whisper.

One more time, inhale and interlace your fingers, rotate and extend your palms, and stretch, repeating the entire exercise with the sound “Sh-h-h-h-h-h-h” silently, on the inside, speaking directly to your liver.

Bring you’re arms down into your lap, palms up, relax your shoulders and rest.

Close your eyes and breath easily, smile on your liver. Become aware of sensations in your body. What are you feeling? Or seeing?

What energy exchanges do you sense within your body and specifically in your liver?

A terrific New Year’s Message from Self Mastery.

Purifying Perception for the New Year
Posted: 30 Dec 2009 10:00 PM PST
Your perception of the world is colored by your thinking and beliefs, yes? The repetitive patterns of habitual thinking can sometimes keep you stuck on the hamster wheel of limiting beliefs and diminish your capacity to live into the potential that is your birthright.

Take a moment to contemplate the patterns in your life that kept you stuck this year . . .

What projections have you made in your relationships?
What judgments have you made about your body?
What resistance do you have around money?
What assumptions have you made about your vision?
What other areas of your life are stuck in a box of conditioned thinking…
To facilitate the relinquishing of the old you can picture each of your limited perceptions in a bubble and imagine the bubble bursts, along with the energy of that belief. As the old perceptions loosen their hold on you, notice the spaciousness that arises making room for what’s now and what’s new. Tap into your broadband sensing and notice what arises from the expansiveness of your boundless being:

Clarity of vision to power up your purpose
Certainty of action to manifest your vision
Effortless expression of your dynamic essence
“What keeps us from accomplishing the impossible is not our mind, or our thoughts, but our vision and value.” Mattison Grey, Greystone Guides

As you shift your attention to your essence and align it with your vision, life will offer you countless opportunities to explore and engage the stuff of your dreams.

December, 2009, newsletter. Have you noticed the current buzz is all about sustainability? Sustainable agriculture, sustainable communities, green this and that… The world is becoming aware of the importance of sustainability to define the quality of interpersonal attention and interaction on our planet.

But have you ever had a conversation about being a sustainable human being? Have you even considered how to become a sustainable individual? What will you act like, think about and believe in as you become increasingly sustainable?

Just imagine….
As each one of us becomes a sustainable individual…we become a a…. right, you got it… a sustainable planet; we create the Tipping Point. It’s the only way. How can you help? Be accountable for yourself; become sustainable in body, mind, and spirit.

We become sustainable by developing our internal guidance systems with Radical Self Care. Sustainability and Radical Self Care are about increasing our consciousness and taking action from this more refined frequency. Let’s explore how to create a sustainable body, a sustainable mind and a sustainable spirit.

Sustainable Body
Can we agree that we always have choices? Our body is a reflection of our consciousness, right? Level 1: Survival. Most of us have moved past this first level. In survival, here are some of our choices: to breathe or not to breathe, hold on tight or let it go, move it or loose it. They are pretty black and white, so you can probably sit there and know which ones you would prefer for yourself.

The second level of choice: Sustainability. I care for myself without causing damage. Sustainability is about the ecology of the situation.
* I learn to become aware of my breath. I watch my breath as it moves and where it doesn’t move through my body. I know my breath can loosen tight muscles, thoughts and emotions. I move my breath consciously into the places that ask for more. * I commit to enough movement (aka exercise) each week to keep my lymphatic system happy and improve my health and happiness. On my way to becoming sustainable, I commit to … (fill in your blank) walk 20 minutes a day while paying attention to my breathing and not talking on my iPhone. * I clean out my refrigerator, back seat of my car and email inbox. * I am ready and willing to let do of an old grudge and then take action to make amends. I release myself and forgive myself, too.
That’s the quick Radical Self Care checklist for
Breath
Movement
Elimination
For more quick and easy Radical Self Care suggestions, go to the website – Daily Discipline page.

Sustainable Mind
Where is your mind?
We used to think that the mind is in the head. Now we know from current scientific studies that each cell has a mind; our minds are non-local. Every cell expresses feelings: Candace Pert discovered it (1999) and then wrote Molecules of Emotion, Your Body is your Unconscious Mind in 2004.

In the language of Hawaii the mind is in the na’ao (the gut). Colloquially, our language honors the knowing of our gut: a gut reaction, a gut feeling, listen to your gut!

Our minds become sustainable when we become aware of how our attitudes and our judgments color our perceptions and we bring those same attitudes and judgments into our awareness and our conscious choice. It’s a Radical Self Care skill. We can notice when we lose our minds or leave our bodies. We can choose to offer ourselves a time-out and receive a few deep breaths. We then become the conscious choice to breathe and move into our center, in fact, to become sustainable!

Once we are co-operating with the three Life or Death elements of Radical Self Care (breath, water, gratitude), we become sustainable. Now the mind, acting sustainably with the body, can make more healthy choices. For example, in food and drink: after all, we know sugar, French fries, and refined and GMO foods are destructive to our bodies. We can no longer afford to indulge unconsciously. TODAY is the day to make the choices we know are best for us and our environment.

Our Spirits are Sustainable. They just are. I think it is an example of Grace.
Our spirits contribute to our full body sustainability as we become aware of our spirit-selves and we wonder deeply into our Selves. This new-found intimacy of wonder into our spirit begins to inform our outlook on life and co-operate with the mind and body. We become more aware and conscious as we wonder…
What am I doing here?

Am I receiving the love I desire to be sustainably healthy and happy?

How can I love more and bigger?

Become interested in your unknown.

Where can YOU begin to become more sustainable today? What will it take? What will you incorporate into your daily lifestyle for a couple of days or weeks? Please share with me how it is transforming your life. Please be in touch with me from the contact page of the website, and you will receive a juicy mp3 “All About Water” I created!

Think Prevention
Thinking ahead now as a sustainable human…
Are you paying into your energy savings account?
Are you caring for and celebrating yourself?

How do you desire to show up to your family? your community?

Remember:
Breath – Feed your brain.
Water – Stay hydrated.
Gratitude – Know why you are grateful and keep your eyes on your purpose.

Breath – Long slow deep breaths, then watch and listen for your guidance.
Movement – Create forward motivation.
Elimination – Let go of the past and the future. Breathe yourself into now.

If you lose your mind and you start to feel some anger: Give yourself a “time-out”. Excuse yourself. Practice Thought Field Therapy (TFT) – self care to reduce and release those emotions. Here’s how: focus on what appears to be the cause of your anger, breathe, and tap gently 10-15 times (1) on the inside base of the nail of the little finger – on the side toward the thumb and then (2) at the outer edge of the eye on the bone. You can do it now, if there is a reason you feel anger or a reason you are having difficultly forgiving.

When you hold onto anger it becomes destructive to your body. Are you not worth more than that? You can stop old, unconscious patterns with Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and choose again. TFT can help you release the old patterns that repeat and repeat causing you to worry. Here’s how. Focus on the worry, breathe and tap under the collarbone, under the eye, under the collarbone. Tap each point 10-15 times. Breathe. Let it go…just be willing. Breathe. Tap the sequence again. You don’t have to understand. Get out of your head and into your willingness and ease. Breathe and let go.

Once you understand that anger is part of your radar system designed to tip you off that there is something out of alignment with you or your environment, you will be honored to receive this feeling of anger, interpret it and let it go.

Next time you desire to be more sustainable, give yourself a time-out. Breathe and slow down. Watch your breath. Listen to your heart for what is next. Slow down and listen. Your heart will tell the truth.

Remember, you have the power to choose how to respond in any situation. Listen and grow your awareness. It’s a skill you are constantly developing.

Practice sustainability this month in all aspects of your life as next month we focus beyond sustainability…

Life is a choice, moment to moment.

Are you intimate enough to know what keeps you healthy and happy?

Are you important enough to choose health and happiness?

Are you willing to focus your conscious attention on yourself for goodness and integrity?

I am hoping your Radical Self Care is a priority for each one of you, breath by breath. I am hoping that it holds a place in your heart that reminds you to take responsibility for your own health and happiness each day. I encourage you to sign up for a (free) 10 minute deeper connection to your Radical Self Care with me, Elizabeth Reveley. You will begin to see and feel transformation in your life.

Are you a SUSTAINABLE human being?

Sustainability implies well-being and on-goingness. Being sustainable, your thoughts, words, and deeds are aligned to support you and your environment. When we are stressed this is not so easy and effortless for us. Stress reflects our fear, our vibration diminishes and we get to feel stuck. We find ourselves moving away from the vibration of love. You have a choice between love and fear. (Remember, Love is Letting Go of Fear, Dr Gerald Jampolsky). You do have the skills to shift your frequency via your Radical Self Care skills.

Slow down.

Breathe.

Feel into your body; it is talking to you all the time. Are you listening?
What is your body requesting? Specifically, what is your heart requesting? Could you be open to fulfilling that request soon, even today?

Ask for help when you need help. Sustainability is a community event.

How can you participate?

Send me your ongoing personal experiences with My Radical Self Care. I love to hear the ways it is transforming your life.

Experiment with Radical Self Care! Choose a practice and tell me how it’s working for you?

Celebrate Yourself
Celebration is essential to sustainability and Radical Self Care. When we celebrate, we acknowledge and acknowledgement grounds us; we feel appreciated. What is your favorite way to acknowledge yourself? How do you celebrate yourself? Did you know…? When you acknowledge yourself your adrenal glands (piggybacked on your kidneys) relax and expand so they function better for you. In fear, your adrenal glands contract and therefore can not support you as well.

What new ways are you finding to celebrate (in addition to more food and alcohol)?

Celebrate with Christmas gifts from Hawaii for just about anyone on your list.

Wreaths Order NOW. The greens and flowers are picked right form the mountains on the Big Islands. They are the most beautiful wreaths you can imagine.
Coffee 100% Molokai WOW! And there’s more to discover; music, too. Can you imagine a tisane?

Hot picks of the season

Fabkins Green and ecological in every way, these cloth fabulous napkins are clever, fun, and attractive. Be the first and turn all your friends and kid-friends on to them.

October, 2009. Focusing on INTIMACY this month has been a huge benefit for me. I am enjoying this time – ME TIME – each day to just be. How are you doing with your being? Cell phone off?
TV off?
Computer off or in a different room?

During ME TIME I started to have a feeling of not being able to be safe. I mean deeply safe – radically safe. I realized my safety issues were coming up to be explored and healed. Radical Safety is creating safety on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, spiritual. I feel safe walking or driving in my community. That external safety is only one aspect of Radical Safety. Have you considered how your cells feel when you drink something toxic? For some people that could be coffee, or milk, or alcohol, even wine for me.

How does Radical Safety feel for you? Do you notice if your cells are safe, your liver, lungs? What about your physical heart and your emotional heart? Please take this moment and check in with all dimensions of your heart.

With whom do you feel safe sharing your feelings? or your beliefs and delving into how you got them?
How aware are you right now that your organs have feelings? and they hold onto these feelings if we do not consciously or unconsciously allow them to move on and out of our physical and emotional bodies.
Do you feel safe eating what you buy at your grocery store?

Radical Self Care http://www.myradicalselfcare.com includes creating safety. One aspect of our personal care-giving is to attend to how we become safe in ourselves, remembering we are spiritual beings having a physical experience. Radical Safety is my choice. I cannot feel safe until I choose it and then take action in that direction.

In which areas of your life would you like to experience more safety? Here are my top two and how I improved.
First one: my body desired better balance. Steady balance is important as we age. Being solidly connected to the earth, stable, aware, alert… I was feeling they all tied in together and I wanted more. So I joined the YMCA in Kailua especially for the Yoga and Pilates classes (http://www.ymcahonolulu.org). We have awesome classes daily with highly trained instructors. The Y offers a great price with no contract and no initiation fee, airy and bright spaces, small classes, all the machines and weights, plus a swimming pool. 3 cheers for the Y!!!

The second one: my Unihipili (my subconscious or inner child) felt afraid around angry energy or when people act angry. By the way, I have looked at this one a few times. I would get back to my childhood and my father. I knew I was not in “real danger”; after all, my younger brother enjoyed what he called “vibrant debates”. But it sure triggered something in me! I knew it was old and deep and way more that appeared. With the assistance of Ramsay Taum’s class in Ho’oponopono, (next class is January 17, 2010) I started to practice Ho’oponopono as taught to us by Auntie Morrnah Simeona. It’s a structured process of respecting and honoring the unconscious, where memories are stored. We unite the Three Selves (Unihipili, Uhane and Aumakua), then go together to the Divine Creator where we request a Ho’oponopono. We Forgive and ask for Forgiveness. Next we ask that all karmic ties be cut and all memories be erased. For me, there is something transformational about the gentleness of the unconditional love inherent in this teaching – something about the purity of standing before our Divine Creator. Perhaps it is the trust and surrender, a willingness to allow this process to unfold naturally. Ho’oponopono guides us to surrendering and allowing. It is powerful. We are cleansed and all participants are set free. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

As I look around I see that my external safety comes, in part, from me learning and honoring my boundaries. What is going on around me when I am safe and to support my Radical Safety? As I develop my intuition, I am learning to feel when others are feeling Radical Safety in their feelings. Now we are all more relaxed and therefore, more safe.

And by the way, I also pay close attention to how my cells feel. With my intention and attention (because it has value), it has become a natural tuning in for me.

I would be honored if you feel inspired to send the website link around the world to your friends and families. My vision is seeing Radical Self Care spread worldwide, teaching and mentoring lifestyle choices that support us all. And if you prefer to be taken off our mailing list, we will honor this choice.

September, 2009. It’s all about me. You have been hearing me say this and I am still liking the phrase. “It’s all about me” reminds me I am choosing how I align my energies and to be grateful for all my creations. I can consciously breathe myself into alignment. I honor myself when I slow down: candles at dinner, a meditative walk. How do you honor yourself?

In this past month of focusing on intimacy, my awareness of who I am has expanded into areas that were new to me, especially places I had been holding onto old – I mean ancient! – misunderstandings and judgments.

I see my intimacy as a clear blue pool in which I refresh myself as I delve into seeing more me. Sometimes I sit on the edge of the pool and dip my toes into the chilly water. Other times I may feel comfortable wading into the water or even swimming out to meet a friend who is calling me to join in. Notice what your intimacy looks like and feels like for you?
I have noticed this month, even in one month, the more I am willing to become intimate with myself, the more compassion I have for myself and for others…the more I can literally feel into myself or someone else.
This is my practice: I feel my connection to the center of the earth through the base of my spine. Next I notice a continuing expansion not only from above my crown but literally out from 360 degrees around my luminous Being. I breathe to keep my focus and expand with each breath as I continue to move through layers of the Elizabeth Onion.

Who Am I?
I continue to ask this fundamental question.

I listen for the answer, using my breath to stay focused.

I gently discover and start taking action from this new place, knowing action is essential for any shift to occur. I breathe and watch myself perform this action or activity several times – just the way I desire it.

What’s my biggest incentive? I love remembering I am choosing to develop my will for goodness and integrity with everything I do, think, say, believe, feel…all of it. Somewhere along the line, at some point in time, we made choices. No matter when or where. We are always choosing. Does that feel as empowering for you as it does for me? The good news is: at any moment we are free to choose again.
Actually, I have two incentives. I love appreciating my creations, big and small. I love paying my credit card bill because it is a clear expression of appreciation for all the goods and services I enjoy. This month, let’s practice expressing gratitude for EVERYTHING in our lives, for all our choices.

Radical Self Care ACTION we can take this month

Support our local organic CSAs
Community Supported Agriculture

As we desire to live in the land of Aloha, one great concern is “How do we feed the Children?” The owner of my CSA says, “Join a CSA?”

Here is one way to feed the children and have local organic produce on everyone’s plate.

Go to this national link and learn a little more about CSAs.

http://www.localharvest.org/csa

Then, if you are lucky to live Hawaii, you can go to the link for Ailani Gardens, where I am a member,

http://www.localharvest.org/farms/M31205

http://www.ailanigardens.com

I join monthly for $75 and I receive weekly (on Sundays) vegetables (this week: kale, chard, eggplant, squash, radishes, hot peppers, okra, leeks), herbs (pesto forever!) and some fruit for 2 people. It’s the bomb! The food is organic, super-fresh and tastes yummy.

Here’s the scoop from Jason, the owner. They farm 1 acre and get enough produce for 20+ families. Ailani Gardens could grow more and many of their Waianae neighbors would love to participate (because they must farm in order to keep their ag. zoning). So there’s plenty of the soil / acreage and the know-how.

What about workers? No problem, Ailani Gardens gets requests from wwoofers constantly, about 5 a week.

The wwoofer site is http://www.wwoof.org. You can see what is already happening around the world.

Join a CSA. If you have a group of at least 6 families Ailani Gardens will deliver once a week, as they do to Kailua now.OR you can drive to a CSA farm in Waimanalo or Waianae any day and pick up.

Prefer to grow your own veggies?
Great Idea!! When you nurture the plants you are nurturing your family. Become part of the DEVOTIONAL AGRICULTURE movement. Care for the soil, plant seeds, add water, feel the power and presence of the sun, care for each other, prepare for the latest arrivals to your ohana and your food will care for you. We are participants in our interconnected benevolent universe.

Ailani Gardens already gives talks and helps individuals get started in their own back yard. Join a free class. Once you are set up and planted, it is simple and fun for the whole family to follow through. Have some dirty fun together!

What if every school had organic gardens on campus?

I believe we can quite easily build our CSA infrastructure and I invite you to participate.

Are you ready to start?
What could we possibly be waiting for?
Join me and join a CSA near you. You deserve to have the best produce ever.

Next go to Kanu Hawaii

http://www.kanuhawaii.org/media

and http://www.kanuhawaii.org/commit to share your commitments.
What about writing a grant to access the funding for more education and expansion, either from private organizations or even the state of Hawaii? The local CSAs are ready to go and ready to support this initiative.

My Radical Self Care encourages good nutritional choices.

Do you have space to grow vegetables in your yard?

Or would you prefer to buy your produce from your local CSA?

I am hoping your Radical Self Care is a priority for each one of you, breath by breath. I am hoping that it holds a place in your heart that reminds you to take responsibility for your own health and happiness each day.

I would be honored if you feel inspired to send the website link around the world to your friends and families. My vision is seeing Radical Self Care spread worldwide, sharing and mentoring lifestyle choices that support us all. And if you prefer to be taken off our mailing list, we will honor this choice. Please click the links below…

August, 2009. Intimacy is the gate into RADICAL SELF CARE.

Who are you?

How do you know?

Please, take this moment to receive a few deep breaths. Slow down…just a little, just enough to breathe into our question:

Who are you?

How do you know?

aaahh, INTIMACY …our essential desire.

We learn, we grow, we prosper as we become more intimate with ourselves.

How do you explore this feeling of who you are? Do you write to your Self, sing in harmony with your Selves, dance in your core? Are you in the habit of sharing with your Self daily?

Intimacy is discovering more of yourself: the light and the dark, the parts you show and the parts you prefer to hide. It’s all you and all of you is valuable.

How are you growing the Peace and Harmony inside you?

How do I, Elizabeth, become more intimate with myself?

I am always asking myself this question and I would like to share some thoughts with you.

For myself, I have discovered:

The most essential, before anything else, is to slow down. I mean really slow down! However slow I might think I am, I know it will serve me to slow down more, most likely much more. I slow down until I can feel the very movement of my breath. I love this feeling of my breath traveling into my cells, ooh, especially my brain cells.

Do you have a moment now to share a breath with me? We can come together with a HA?

(In the Hawaiian language, HA is the breath of life.)

Number 2 is self-esteem. How much do I value myself? This answer can shift from day to day. What I do notice is, the higher my personal value rating, the more often I make time to be intimate with myself and the sweeter that time is.

Number 3 is pay attention to the details. When I am slow enough and I feel I deserve the attention, I notice more of the subtleties of my actions and beliefs. I have the time and patience to ask myself some deep questions.

With these steps, a cascade of awareness is initiated. I notice the energy and quality of my voice and I can choose to relax it. Or I notice how I am standing or the pace of my walk and I can choose to shift. Now, I feel my body as it walks or sits or drives. I can ask my body what it needs to be healthier and happier. And what about that judgment that just flashed through my consciousness about another person I don’t even know. Today I can notice it and redirect that judging energy toward higher discernment. I am grateful for this awareness of myself.

INTIMACY

In to me I see.

What an insightful play with words…!
And you, how do you prefer your intimacy?

Would you be willing to take all the time you need right now to breathe into your Self?

Just for this moment, feel the breath of life come into you: in through your nostrils, down your throat, and follow this precious breath through your amazing body?

How does that feel?

Who are you now?

A BOOK

The most remarkable book I have read this month is Winston Halapua’s Waves of God’s Embrace, (Sacred Perspective from the Ocean). Winston Halapua is the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Polynesia in New Zealand. The book is small and personal. With heart-felt writing and prayer he shares an appreciation of the “richness of human diversity and a mutual need for one another as the people of God.” Waves of God’s Embrace pivots on the moana: literally, ocean, and used to express the interconnectedness of all life. “Moana as a metaphor provides a pathway for exploration and discovery for us as members of the human family” (page 14). Moana is deeply rooted in creation and “God’s care of the whole creation.”

A THOUGHT

Are you a sustainable human being?

And beyond sustainable, what do you envision becoming?

Radical Self Care is not about technique.

Radical Self Care is about YOU.

It’s really about each one of us, individually and collectively.

We all know it is good for us to slow down a bit. So, what can you do for yourself to remember to slow yourself down. Slow down your breathing. Slow down your walk. Oh my, and what about all the things you have to get done today?

What if one or two of them did not get finished and YOU FEEL more relaxed and more content? How does your feeling more mellow and acting with more awareness serve your family and the planet? (I know it’s a leap, and I have to go there. It’s just who I am.)

What if? Deep breath, in and out… and imagine….

What does it take to slow down?

What is your body requesting of you?

Create for yourself a moment of intimacy by taking a deep breath.

Relax your shoulders.

Notice your jaw and let it relax, too.

Now ask.

Now listen.

Would you like to share a personal experience of what just happened and the benefits of Radical Self Care?

If you do, it will encourage others as well as yourself. Imagine that!! and please send photos, too. We love those visuals.

You can be in touch with me from the contact page of the website, and you will receive a juicy mp3 “All About Water” I created!

Do you have a question you would like us to discuss on the blog or in a newsletter?

I am hoping your Radical Self Care is a priority for each one of you, breath by breath. I am hoping that it holds a place in your heart that reminds you to take responsibility for your own health and happiness each day

I would be honored if you feel inspired to send the website link around the world to your friends and families. My vision is seeing Radical Self Care spread worldwide, teaching and mentoring lifestyle choices that support us all. And if you prefer to be taken off our mailing list, we will honor this choice.
